I'm John Pflasterer, and I am running to represent Ward 2 on the North Little Rock City Council. My life has been defined by service to our country and our community. I am a retired military veteran of 24 years, and I earned my bachelor's degree in public safety while serving in the Army National Guard. Back home, I served as a North Little Rock firefighter and Fire Marshal, which taught me how our city operates and connected me with so many of our residents. Today, I am a small farmer and serve as president of both the Argenta Neighborhood Boosters and our Neighborhood Crimewatch. We have been able to get a lot done together in our neighborhood, and I want to bring that same dedication to the City Council to improve Ward 2 and all of North Little Rock.
I'm running to make sure every corner of Ward Two gets the attention and care it deserves. Right now, some areas of our ward are being overlooked when it comes to the basics—things like regular grass cutting, proper drainage, and consistent code enforcement. These might seem like small details, but they are absolutely essential to the safety, health, and pride of our community. My goal is simple: I want to improve all of these services so that every resident can live in a safe, clean neighborhood. I will work hard to ensure we address these issues head-on, because a stronger Ward Two starts with taking care of our own streets and looking out for one another.
I truly believe that strong neighborhood groups are the foundation of a strong community and a strong city. Right now, we have about four or five of our local neighborhood groups that have fallen inactive or are in disarray. When these groups struggle, our neighborhoods lose their voice. That is why I am committed to working directly with these groups to help them rebuild, boost their attendance, and restore their active, reliable presence in our community. By coming together and strengthening these local organizations from the ground up, we can ensure every neighbor is heard and every corner of our city thrives. I want to partner with you to make our neighborhoods as active and connected as they can be.
